Heidi Kingsbury, MSW,
LISW

Heidi Kingsbury is a licensed Psychotherapist from
the University of Wisconsin- Madison with fifteen years of clinical
experience. Heidi has drawn on her extensive knowledge of psychology
in her passion for training canines and is now a dedicated dog
trainer. As an animal consultant and trainer, Heidi uses "Positive
Training Approaches" in her work with animals and their human
companions. By utilizing a variety of techniques, including operant
and classical conditioning, herbal therapy, aromatherapy and healing
touch therapy, she is able to enhance the human/canine relationship.
Heidi is an active member of the Association of
Pet Dog Trainers (APDT). The APDT is a professional organization
of individual trainers who are committed to becoming better trainers
through education. The APDT offers individual pet dog trainers
a respected and concerted voice in the dog world. The APDT is
highly committed to promoting dog training methods that are based
on unconditional love and mutual respect and their goal is to
increase public awareness of dog friendly training techniques.
Heidi first developed Heidi's Canine Services for
the Santa Fe community in 1999. Before beginning her own business,
she was implementing and participating in "Animal Assisted Activities"
in other communities around the United States. Heidi works in
collaboration with several veterinary practices in the Santa Fe
community and has gained the reputation of being "the dog whisperer".
Heidi has also been involved in animal education on a volunteer
basis for many local Santa Fe based organizations, and is interested
in developing programs for local schools.
Heidi's Canine Services provides a variety of services
including Puppy Kindergarten, Basic Obedience group classes, and
private in-home educational training. Heidi is also available
for consultation work regarding specific problems that may be
affecting your canine.
